TEHRAN - In order to fill in the time of students this summer the Islamic Propagation Organization (IPO) has organized 45 cultural, scientific, academic and recreational programs, said IPO Deputy of Cultural Affairs Hojjatoleslam Mousapour on Tuesday.

These programs start on July 16 in 3000 camps across the country in the form of national, regional, and domestic programs, said Mousapour.

He noted that free times played an important part in individual and social development and also played a significant role in the country's cultural and social progress.

This is an important and sensitive matter in our country in which over 60% population is under 24 year olds.

He cited the programs of IPO designated as Boostan (garden) of Prayers for adolescents and Golestan (garden) of Velayat for youths.

The educational programs are aimed at strengthening the fundamental religious and beliefs and ethics through organizing classes including teaching Qoran, the religious code, and the history of Islam, he said.

Art and crafts, chorus songs, plays, first aid, poems, group recitations, story writing, designing, drawing and calligraphy are ten of the educational programs while eight separate fields of sports have also been included in the programs, he pointed out.

Some twenty thousand trainers of which 2,500 are clerics acquainted with educational issues cooperate in the program.

Mousaspour said that the student would also have access to IT and Internet as part of the program.

Dar ul-Quran (affiliated to IPO) has provided special programs for the event.
